Poldervroedvrouwen at the Market

Klik on picture to enlarge it, it's worth it!

GoedenDoelenMarkt in Almere 5 mei

Poldervroedvrouw goes to the Market!
Like last year at the Cowmarket in Zeewolde, the 5th of May, she'll be in ALMERE.
She made hundreds little presents for the childeren, and hopes that all parents will donate for our SierraLeone Project. The TwinSisterProject from the KNOV.
TwinSister Carla, midwife at Emmeloord, has a stand where she learns you to reanimate a baby. We sell the White Ribbon ornament to create awareness for the fifth MILLENIUM GOAL: IMPROVE MATERNAL HEALTH
LIFE
for women and their newborns all over the world!

Renate in SierraLeone

Klik on picture to enlarge, it's worth it!
Twinsister Renate visited her sister in Sierra Leone. A foto-impression of her trip shows us a tiny glimps of her, visiting several hospitals, the deliverywards, midwifery-schools, and meeting a lot of friendly people and beautifull baby's. I thank Renate for allowing me to use her foto's. I can't wait to know the story's behind each picture.
Looking at all this, it gives me power to continue to tell everyone again and again about our TwinSisterProject in Sierra Leone!

Afternoon HomeBirth

All the best wishes for 2011, the year that I am gonna meet my twinsister Hannah.
I thank Patricia, for letting me use this beautiful foto, taken a few minutes after her son Tim was born at home.
I thank her husband for making it. I look happy :), but who wouldn't be, at that very moment?

My sister Hannah

May all the Children

May all the children who are born on this planet
Have a mother who's healthy
And a father who's kind
May the place of their birth be a warm and a safe one
May they posess their own body
Their soul and their mind

Tell me the story of others
Let me listen to thoughts of women unknown
Make me understand the difference
Between comfort and care
Or being on your own

In the dark of the night through the silence
There's the cry of a child
The sound goes straight to your heart
Is it a scream of misery
Or the announcement of a new start
The cry of a brand new start

May all the children who are born on this planet
Have a mother who's healthy
And a father who's kind
May the place of their birth be a warm and a safe one
May they posess their own body
Their soul and their mind

It's time to unveil the knowledge
That makes the difference between life and death
It's time to share the knowledge
That makes the difference between life and death
In the dark of the night etc...

Donaties Gifts

Past week our student Marjolein finished her internship at Zeewolde. She helped delivering nine baby's and it was a pleasure tutoring her, she is a very good midwife-student. And surely is gonna be a exellent midwife.
As farewell-gift she had something special for us. A real DutchBluePiggy and it wasn't empty! For our TwinningProject she asked all her friends to sponsor her. She and her 1+ year old sun Jesse went to the swimmingpool, and they swam nine whole rounds. One round for every month of a pregnancy. Her Friends payed them for every round... So the piggy was really full!
The money will be donated to the TwinningProject Midwifes4Mothers.
